During the рейд in the steppe area near the Uchkul lakes in the Termez District, inspectors established that a citizen identified as E.F., residing in the Shaykhantakhur District of Tashkent, had illegally hunted 13 wild hares.

The inspection further revealed that the hunting had been carried out at night using a prohibited method involving artificial lighting. Administrative measures were taken against the offender in accordance with the national Code of Administrative Responsibility. In addition, the environmental damage caused by the illegal hunting was assessed at 5,356,000 sums.

Three hunting firearms belonging to the offender and used in the commission of the violation were seized as material evidence and transferred to the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

For reference: earlier in the Navoi Region, measures were taken against an individual posing as an “entrepreneur” who had illegally uprooted saxaul trees for subsequent sale.
