Members of the Public Council under the Committee for Ecology Awarded the Status of Public Environmental Inspectors

The event followed the completion of a two-week training program organized for members of the Public Council. The course was conducted at the Center for Retraining and Advanced Training of Personnel Working in the Field of Environmental Protection and was aimed at strengthening participants’ knowledge and practical skills in public environmental oversight.
As part of the program, participants studied the legal framework for environmental protection in the Republic of Uzbekistan, the main directions of state policy in combating corruption, priority areas for promoting environmental education and culture, as well as mechanisms for conducting public environmental control by public inspectors and non-governmental non-profit organizations.
In addition, the training covered the application of modern information and communication technologies in environmental protection and the rational use of natural resources, the implementation of the nationwide “Yashil Makon” (Green Space) project, and measures to enhance the effectiveness of reforms aimed at developing a green economy. Particular attention was given to the protection of atmospheric air, the rational use and conservation of flora and fauna, land and water resources, subsoil resources, as well as the coordination and supervision of waste management activities. The program also included practical sessions.
Upon completion of the training, participants were awarded the relevant certificates and identification cards of Public Environmental Inspector, confirming their readiness to take part in public environmental oversight and contribute to ensuring environmental safety.
It is worth noting that approximately 100 people are currently undergoing training at the Center for Retraining and Advanced Training. Overall, training under this program is planned for 735 participants during the current year.
