Importance of International Cooperation in Climate-Resilient Water Resources Management Emphasized

The event was organized with the support of the National Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Ecology and Climate Change, "Caritas Switzerland", the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation and partner organizations. The meeting focused on assessing the results achieved by national authorities and international partners within the framework of the project, as well as identifying priorities and tasks for the next phase.
In their remarks, Deputy Chair of the Committee for Ecology Jusipbek Kazbekov and Deputy Head of Mission and Head of Cooperation at the Embassy of Switzerland Andrin Fink emphasized the growing importance of climate-resilient water resources management and of international cooperation in addressing climate change challenges in Uzbekistan.
In addition, the draft Annual Operational Plan for 2026–2027 was discussed. Following the review, recommendations were provided to ensure its alignment with national environmental priorities and long-term objectives for sustainable water resource management.
The meeting concluded with agreement on preliminary proposals regarding the next NSC session. The partners also reaffirmed their shared commitment to strengthening climate resilience in Uzbekistan and advancing sustainable water resources management.
