Measures Taken Against an Offender for the Illegal Uprooting and Sale of Saxaul Shrubs

The inspection established that the cargo bed of a "GAZ-53" truck without state registration plates, owned by citizen J.A., contained a total of five cubic meters of saxaul shrubs. The plants had been illegally uprooted and were being transported for the purpose of subsequent sale.
In connection with the violation, an administrative protocol was drawn up under Part 1, Article 79 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility. The offender was fined 25 times the base calculation unit, amounting to 10 million 300 thousand sums. In addition, environmental damage was assessed at 29 million sums. A decision has been made to recover both the fine and the assessed damages. The confiscated saxaul shrubs were transferred free of charge to low-income families.
