The project is being implemented in accordance with the Presidential decrees of the Republic of Uzbekistan on the development of renewable energy. It represents one of the country’s major initiatives aimed at expanding the use of renewable energy sources, enhancing the resilience of the energy supply and strengthening environmental sustainability. The project will be implemented in two phases and includes a number of key infrastructure components.
During the public consultation, technical details of the project were presented. At the first stage, construction is planned of a 100 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS), 14 wind turbines, as well as two transmission lines with lengths of 14 km and 48 km, respectively. The second stage предусматривает the construction of a 123 MW solar power plant and the installation of 28 wind turbines with a combined capacity of 220 MW.
It was emphasized during the hearings that the Voltalia hybrid power plant will not only increase electricity generation capacity, but will also contribute to reducing carbon emissions, strengthening environmental security, promoting the socio-economic development of the region, and creating new jobs. The event concluded with a question-and-answer session, during which participants shared their views and proposals regarding environmental assessments and the potential impacts of the project.
