Heavy snowfall and falling temperatures reduce the availability of natural food resources for wild animals and birds, making their living conditions more challenging. In this context, biotechnical measures have been intensified across all protected areas of the country, including the Ugam–Chatkal National Nature Park (Tashkent Region), the Surkhan State Nature Reserve (Surkhandarya Region), the "Aralkum" and "South Ustyurt" National Nature Parks (Republic of Karakalpakstan), the "Central Kyzylkum" National Nature Park (Navoiy Region), as well as the Zarafshan National Nature Park (Samarkand Region).
In particular, in the Ugam–Chatkal National Nature Park, 160 kg of barley, 120 kg of bran, 100 kg of salt and 400 kg of natural hay have been placed to support the feeding of wild animals and birds. In the "Aralkum" National Nature Park, additional grain products, hay, and other essential feed have also been distributed.
For reference: biotechnical measures were previously carried out in the "Yukori Tupolang" National Nature Park (Surkhandarya Region).
These biotechnical measures are aimed at protecting wildlife, conserving biodiversity and ensuring the ecological sustainability of national nature parks and will continue on a regular basis.
