National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The event was co-organised by representatives of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, the United Nations Development Programme, the “Zamin” International Public Foundation, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, Green University, school students, media representatives, and young eco-activists.

During the event, held under the slogan "Be a part of the planet", a report was presented and a film was shown on the implementation of the Kunming-Montreal Global Framework Program for the Conservation of Biodiversity in Uzbekistan. The participants discussed the role and importance of biological diversity in our country. 

Also at the event, a competition among young artists, "Protecting biodiversity – becoming part of the planet" was held, where young artists presented paintings depicting the flora and fauna of the country. At the same time, students and young eco-activists were introduced to the activities of the Green University. 

According to the results of the competition among young artists, the winners were determined. Davronbek Farmonov took 1st place, Abdulla Khodjamatov took 2nd place, and Aslzoda Zhurabayeva took 3rd place. The winners and participants were awarded certificates and valuable prizes. 

For reference: The International Day of Biological Diversity has been celebrated annually since 2001. This day was declared by the UN General Assembly in 1995 in order to draw public attention to the problem of the irreversible disappearance of many representatives of flora and fauna on Earth.
