Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection, and Climate Change, Aziz Abdukhakimov, took part in the event on behalf of Uzbekistan. 

During the meeting, the heads of delegations exchanged views on the current state and prospects for the development of cooperation in the field of environmental protection among the SCO member states and noted the importance and necessity of implementing the plan for the implementation of the concept of cooperation among the member states in the field of environmental protection for 2025–2027. Issues of further implementation of the Action Plan for the SCO Year of Ecology in 2024 were also discussed. 

The parties recommended that the SCO Secretariat submit for adoption during the meeting of the Council of Heads of SCO Member States, which will be held on July 3–4, 2024, in Astana, a statement by the Council of Heads of Member States on effective waste management, as well as an agreement between the governments of the SCO member states on cooperation in the field of environmental protection. 

During the event, the heads of delegations approved a joint action plan for the implementation of the SCO “Green Belt” Program for 2024–2026, initiated by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Sh.M. Mirziyoyev. 

At the same time, joint approaches of the SCO member states to solve environmental problems and a Plan for the implementation of the Concept of Cooperation of the SCO member states in the field of environmental protection for 2025–2027 were approved.
