Over the course of 2025, more than 200 million tree and shrub saplings were planted nationwide under the project. A significant contribution was made through the “My Garden” initiative, within the framework of which “green gardens” and public parks were established in 208 districts and cities, creating new recreational spaces for local communities. Particular attention has been given to industrial zones, where 10 million trees and shrubs have been planted around enterprises, contributing to a reduction in technogenic pressure and improvements in air quality.
To ensure the quality and sustainability of greening efforts at the local level, a comprehensive set of measures has been implemented. With the involvement of sectoral specialists, 832 practical seminars were conducted to enhance professional skills in planting and maintaining green spaces. In order to stabilize prices and ensure the availability of planting material, 826 fairs were organized in every district and city with the participation of entities engaged in sapling cultivation.
The “Yashil Makon” project also covers socially significant facilities and vulnerable areas. More than one million fruit-bearing and ornamental saplings, adapted to local soil and climatic conditions, were distributed to 1,024 mahallas, as well as to healthcare and public education institutions. In parallel, the digitalization of the green fund is underway: electronic passports have been created for 605,000 trees and integrated into a unified monitoring platform.
The reforms also encompass the introduction of innovative environmental solutions. In Tashkent, the Astronomy Park has been opened as part of the city’s green infrastructure, while the overall level of greenery coverage nationwide has reached 14.1 percent. In five districts—Arnasay, Nukus, Karakul, Muborak and Karmana—work has begun on the establishment of halophyte gardens resilient to saline soils. For this purpose, 1.3 thousand tonnes of seeds of 35 species of halophytic plants have been imported from China.
The implementation of the “Yashil Makon” project within the framework of the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy clearly demonstrates the country’s transition to a comprehensive and long-term environmental policy focused on sustainable development, climate change adaptation, and the improvement of the population’s quality of life.
