National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The operations covered the Kibray, Zangiata, Yukorichirchik, Yangiyul and Tashkent districts of Tashkent Region, as well as the city of Tashkent. The inspections were conducted jointly with representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the National Guard  and internal affairs authorities.

Between 25 November and 16 December, compliance with atmospheric air protection legislation was assessed at 3,493 facilities during the operational raids. As a result of the inspections, 1,047 violations were identified, and administrative case files were initiated accordingly. The activities of 104 facilities that had caused adverse environmental impacts and violated statutory requirements (94 in Tashkent Region and 10 in the city of Tashkent) were temporarily suspended for a period of 10 working days.

In addition, filtration systems were installed at 84 greenhouse facilities.

For information, 24 violations were identified during the enforcement raids conducted on 16 December.
