Professor of the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Included Among China’s Most Highly Cited Scholars

Professor Zou joined the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage in October 2022. He is a distinguished scholar with many years of experience in academic leadership and research management. Over the course of his career, he has held a number of senior positions, including Adviser to the President of the Beijing International Studies University, Chief Expert of the National Social Science Foundation of China, Dean of the China Academy of Culture and Tourism, and Dean of the Faculty of Tourism Management at the Beijing International Studies University.
In his capacity as Vice Rector for Research and Innovation, Professor Tongqian Zou oversees the University’s key areas of research development, including enhancing the quality of academic research, organizing scientific and educational conferences, expanding publishing activities, supporting talented young scholars, strengthening human capital, and broadening international academic cooperation. Under his leadership, the UNESCO Chair “Sustainable Historic Tourism along the Silk Roads” and a Research Laboratory on Archaeology and Cultural Heritage Conservation were established. He is currently also actively engaged in the development of research laboratories in the fields of sustainable tourism and the green economy. His work is aimed at strengthening the University’s research capacity and enhancing its role within the international academic community.
The inclusion of Professor Tongqian Zou among China’s most highly cited scholars confirms the high academic standards of the scholarly community represented at the "Silk Road" International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage and makes a meaningful contribution to strengthening scientific and educational cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the People’s Republic of China.
