The Institute currently employs 77 specialists, including 45 research staff, among them 21 PhD holders and 4 DSc researchers. In 2025, its scientists published more than 80 scientific articles, six monographs, over 50 conference papers, and obtained six authorship certificates. In parallel, 11 scientific projects with a total budget of 20.4 billion UZS are being implemented, engaging more than 30 scientists and young researchers from leading universities and scientific organizations across the country.
The Institute is actively expanding its international cooperation portfolio. It is currently implementing six international projects worth nearly USD 544,000, while also providing expert support to four foreign initiatives. Its partners include UNDP, GEF, UNESCO, GIZ, the World Bank, WMO, IAEA, and major research institutions in the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Switzerland, Finland, Japan and Central Asian countries. In 2025, the Institute also organized an international conference on mountain glacier monitoring, held within the frameworks of the UNESCO–WMO International Year of Glacier Preservation.
The Institute’s growing scientific capacity, strengthened international partnerships, and expanding scope of fundamental and applied research reaffirm its status as a leading center in hydrometeorology and environmental science. Its achievements contribute to enhancing the country’s environmental resilience, improving water and energy security and advancing scientific solutions in the context of global climate change.
