Every year, from September to the end of November, Green Diplomacy Weeks bring together EU Delegations and partner countries around the world, implementing a wide range of environmental activities — information campaigns, seminars, exhibitions, ecological volunteer actions and discussions involving youth, educational institutions, NGOs, local communities and the private sector.
In Uzbekistan, the environmental campaign at the Tashkent Botanical Garden gathered representatives of the embassies of EU Member States, civil society, volunteers, and young people, including schoolchildren and students. Participants contributed to maintaining one of the most important green areas of the capital, home to more than 2,000 plant species and supported the promotion of a culture of responsible environmental behavior among garden visitors and the wider public.
During the event, it was particularly emphasized that environmental protection begins with each citizen and depends on daily habits and choices. Keeping public spaces clean is our shared responsibility. Alongside measures taken by the state and international partners, the personal contribution of every individual is an essential element of overall success. The joint initiative of the European Union and Uzbekistan has become another step in strengthening cooperation in combating climate change, preserving biodiversity and advancing sustainable development.
