The official presentation of the updated NDC will take place at the 30th Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 30), to be held from 10 to 21 November in Belém, Brazil.
The development of NDC 3.0 was the result of joint efforts by the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, representatives of the private sector, civil society, international financial institutions and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). The work on the document was carried out within the framework of the national initiative designating 2025 as the “Year of Environmental Protection and "Green" Economy.”
The updated climate goals reflect the strengthening of Uzbekistan’s national climate policy, its commitment to energy transformation and sustainable development. NDC 3.0 underscores the country’s determination to align climate action with economic modernization, the attainment of upper-middle-income status and the promotion of social inclusion. The new commitments also emphasise that the development of a green economy will contribute to advancing gender equality, creating new employment opportunities and enhancing social justice.
Particular attention during the development of NDC 3.0 was given to youth engagement, whose initiatives and ideas are reflected in the new document. In this way, Uzbekistan reaffirms its commitment not only to fulfilling international climate obligations but also to building an environmentally responsible and inclusive future — one in which every citizen can contribute to the country’s sustainable development.
