The objective is to ensure enforcement of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan — “On Environmental Control,” “On Nature Protection” and “On the Protection and Use of the Animal World” — and to adopt stringent measures to counter poaching.
Throughout the month, inspection raids and patrol operations will be conducted in all protected natural areas, as well as in the country’s desert and mountainous regions and in natural water bodies, as part of environmental control activities carried out jointly with the relevant agencies, to detect and suppress illegal use of plant and animal resources, including unlawful fishing. In addition, each region has formed operational task forces to carry out these raids; awareness-raising and preventive activities regarding the rules for using animal and plant resources, hunting and fishing are also being undertaken.
The Ministry of Ecology reiterates that any instance of illegal hunting entails severe liability in accordance with the law. If you witness poaching, please report it to the Ministry of Ecology by calling (71) 207-11-07 or (71) 207-11-08, the short numbers 1157 or 1207, or via the @ecogovuz_bot.
