Meeting Held with Delegation Led by the Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

On 15 October 2025, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology U. Yusupov, together with senior officials of the ministry, held a meeting with a delegation headed by Jean-Marc Peterschmitt, Managing Director of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
The parties exchanged views on the achievements of their cooperation, ongoing joint projects, and further steps. In particular, the new edition of the Law “On Subsoil”, developed and enacted last year, was highly commended. The participants also discussed the prospects for drafting by-laws based on this legislation.
Representatives of the EBRD emphasised that attracting investment into the mining sector, including the financing of projects in Uzbekistan, remains one of the bank’s key areas of activity.
