Engineering and geological surveys

State Enterprise "Institute GIDROINGEO" under the State Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Geology and Mineral Resources conducts laboratory research in the course of engineering and geological survey work.

The Soil Science Laboratory is a structural unit of the State Enterprise "Institute GIDROINGEO".

In its activities, the laboratory is guided by the Standards of the Republic of Uzbekistan (RST Uz), Interstate standards, GOSTs, guidelines, orders, orders and instructions of the State Committee for Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, State Enterprise "Institute GIDROINGEO" and other regulatory documents.

The Soil Science Laboratory is certified by the Tashkent City Department of Standardization and Metrology, the Uzbek Agency for Standardization, Metrology and Certification (Uzstandart).

The main tasks of the Soil Science Laboratory are to determine the physical and mechanical properties of soils for solving geological and national economic problems.

The laboratory conducts analytical research to determine the following physical and mechanical properties of cohesive soils and rocks:

I. On cohesive soils:

1. Density

2. Bulk density

3. Granulometric composition

4. Humidity

5. Hygroscopic humidity

6. Plasticity

7. Maximum molecular moisture

8. Swelling

9. Soaking

10. Compression tests

11. Filtration coefficient

12. Shear tests of soils

1) in a natural state

- with preliminary compaction

- without preliminary compaction

2) in a water-saturated state

- with preliminary compaction

- without preliminary compaction

II. For rocks:

1. Density

2. Bulk density

3. Water absorption

4. Natural moisture

5. Porosity

6. Breaking strength

7. Compressive strength

- in a natural state

- in a water-saturated state

8. Softening factor

9. Strength coefficient according to Protodyakonov.
