As Part of Geological Cooperation, Field Research Conducted in the Kitab Geological Park

Dr. Andrey Dronov, Doctor of Geological and Mineralogical Sciences and Leading Researcher at the Geological Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences (GIN RAS), carried out field studies in the territory of the Kitab National Geological Nature Park. His research focused on the comparative study of Ordovician deposits across Eurasia.
During the fieldwork, stratigraphic sections Shakhriomon-1, Shakhriomon-2, Shakhriomon-2a, and Novobak (Silurian) were examined, and samples were collected for laboratory analysis. Methodological and practical support was provided by local geologists.
The collected samples have been delivered for scientific analysis. The publication of the research findings is expected in August–September 2025. This cooperation contributes to the strengthening of international scientific ties in the field of geology.
