Key points from President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s address at the Eighth Consultative Meeting of the Heads of State of Central Asia and Azerbaijan:

📌 A proposal was made to accelerate efforts to establish the Regional Alliance on Critical Minerals, an initiative put forward by Uzbekistan. One of the first steps could be the creation of a Unified Digital Map of Critical Mineral Reserves in Central Asia;
📌 The importance of establishing a special Platform for Financial and Technical Support for joint investment projects was emphasised;
📌 Traditional trade between countries is no longer sufficient; they must work together to create finished products. The formula “Six Economies – One Product” clearly reflects what the countries of the region should strive to achieve. To advance cooperation in this area, it was proposed to hold the Central Asia–Azerbaijan Business Forum in Khiva in 2027;
📌 Economic cooperation must reach a new level. Ambitious targets have been set for increasing mutual trade and investment, and it is now necessary to determine how this growth will be achieved;
📌 A proposal was made to develop a Regional Atlas of In-Demand Professions and Competencies, bringing together national forecasts in areas where skills shortages are currently being experienced and demand is expected to grow in the coming years;
📌 “We are responsible for the kind of region we leave to future generations. It must be peaceful, secure and economically strong, offering people opportunities to live with dignity, work, study and raise their children.”
