Seminar with EBRD consultants underway in Tashkent

A seminar involving consultants from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) is being held in Tashkent from 5 to 9 October. The event focuses on the substance and significance of the revised Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On Subsoil”, the exchange of international experience in subsoil use and licensing, as well as other important issues. The seminar is attended by senior officials and responsible staff of the Ministry’s central office, as well as its subordinate enterprises and organisations.

Seminar with EBRD consultants underway in Tashkent

The event was opened with welcoming remarks by Deputy Minister Rustam Yusupov. In his address, he emphasised that the main objective of the reforms implemented in the sector in recent years is to create an open, transparent and attractive environment for investors in the field of subsoil use.

During the session dedicated to the implementation of the Law “On Subsoil”, presentations provided a detailed overview of the procedures for granting subsoil use rights (licensing), as well as other regulatory legal acts developed within the framework of the adopted law.

Tomorrow, 6 October, discussions will focus on topics such as the stages of a mining project (investment and financing), as well as attracting foreign investment in projects for the extraction of critical minerals.
