Second Day of the GEOMIN 2026 International Conference Concludes in Tashkent

One of the central events of the day was the panel session “Redefining Mining’s Future: ESG, Operational Reality, and Supply Chains in the New World Order”. Participants discussed sustainable development in the mining industry, current operational challenges and changes in global supply chains.
Other thematic sessions focused on the application of artificial intelligence, machine learning and digital technologies in mineral exploration, the integration and processing of geological data, modern geophysical methods, airborne geophysical surveys, and new approaches to mineral prospecting and exploration. Discussions also covered the exploration and development of uranium, gold, copper, lithium and other critical minerals, as well as the potential of natural hydrogen and the utilisation of secondary mineral resources from mining operations.
Presentations and reports were delivered by international experts, researchers and specialists, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and sector enterprises and organisations. Research findings from Uzbekistan, Central Asia and other regions of the world were presented, while participants exchanged practical experience and discussed opportunities for applying advanced technological solutions.
The final day of GEOMIN 2026 will take place on 16 September. On 17 September, conference participants are scheduled to take part in a field trip to the Kalmakyr deposit.
