The discussion focused on the digital transformation of the sector and modern research methods. Participants considered the application of artificial intelligence in processing geological, geophysical and geochemical data, the integration of various research methods, and the development of 3D models and digital twins.
The First Deputy Minister presented Uzbekistan’s ongoing efforts to digitise accumulated geological materials and integrate them into the National Geological Database. Particular attention was given to data standardisation and interoperability, the introduction of modern digital solutions, and the use of artificial intelligence in mineral exploration.
Critical minerals, improvements to resource classification systems and reporting standards, as well as the expansion of international investment cooperation were also discussed. Participants exchanged views on the role of national geological surveys in improving access to information and creating favourable conditions for the implementation of new projects.
The roundtable also addressed the training of young professionals, the development of international education and research programmes, and the integration of geoinformatics, data analysis and 3D modelling into educational programmes. The meeting concluded with the identification of promising areas for further cooperation between geological surveys and research institutions.
