To ensure the efficient operation of wells used to irrigate household plots, conserve water and energy resources, and introduce a modern management system, the Centre developed and implemented the Oqil quduq digitalisation technology for the first time in Uzbekistan. This innovative solution is now recognised as the “Kashkadarya Experience” and represents a unique model for the digital management of vertical irrigation wells.
During the visit, it was noted that 51 vertical irrigation wells have been digitalised. They have been integrated into the Central Dispatch Service and placed under full video surveillance, while the system itself has successfully undergone practical testing.
Officials from the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology and the Hokimiyat of Kashkadarya Region agreed to strengthen cooperation on the rational use and protection of groundwater, engage international and local donor organisations to provide financial support for the initiative, and enhance oversight of the use of groundwater reserves.
