As part of the conference, international experts have the opportunity to study the Ordovician period within the Zarafshan–Gissar tectonic structures, its rich fauna — including unique remains of ancient animals dating back 420–460 million years — as well as the characteristic succession of sedimentary rocks.

This international event will make a significant contribution to promoting and advancing such fields as palaeontology and stratigraphy. The conference brings together scientists from different countries, research institutions and scientific disciplines.
