Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The delegation visited the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the State Institution “Uzbekhydrogeology”, the State Institution “HYDROINGEO Institute”, the State Institution “Center for Subsoil Use”, the University of Geological Sciences, as well as the Tashkent Station of the State Geological Monitoring Service.

During the visit, the guests were presented with information on the rational use of groundwater, hydrogeological monitoring, laboratory research, the permitting system, the training of young specialists, and ongoing projects related to transboundary groundwater.

As a result of the visit, the parties reached an agreement to further develop cooperation between Uzbekistan and Tajikistan within the framework of the Helvetas project and to expand the exchange of experience in the field of transboundary groundwater. It was also noted that a Memorandum of Understanding is planned to be signed.
