Cooperation in Groundwater Management Discussed

On 13 July, R. Yusupov, Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, held a meeting with a delegation from the Republic of Tajikistan.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the State Enterprise Uzbekhydrogeology, the State Enterprise HYDROINGEO Institute, and Helvetas Tajikistan. The parties exchanged experience in the rational use and protection of groundwater and discussed ways to further improve the regulatory framework in this area.
During the meeting, information was presented on the Integrated Water Resources Management project being implemented by Helvetas Tajikistan in the Sughd Region of the Republic of Tajikistan.
Following the meeting, the parties reaffirmed their mutual interest in further strengthening cooperation, implementing joint projects, and continuing the exchange of best practices in the rational use and protection of groundwater.
