Meeting Held with a Delegation Led by the State Secretary for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of the Kingdom of Sweden

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for further expanding cooperation between the two countries in the fields of mining and geology. In particular, they reviewed the outcomes of the Ministry’s delegation visit to Sweden in March this year, as well as ongoing joint projects being implemented with Epiroc, Volvo CE, ABB and Green 14.
The sides also exchanged views on cooperation in the introduction of advanced technologies into the industry, workforce training, implementation of investment projects, as well as the adoption of Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles and international sustainability standards in the mining sector.
Following the meeting, the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry for International Development Cooperation and Foreign Trade of Sweden signed a Memorandum of Understanding on enhanced cooperation in the mining sector.
