International seminars entitled “Metals for Energy and Digital Transformation: From Resources to Metals” were held at the University of Geological Sciences with the participation of representatives of the French Geological Survey (BRGM) and the University of Lorraine.

The seminars were attended by the university’s management, academic staff, young researchers, and students. Foreign experts — Dr A.G. Guezennec and Dr R. Michels — delivered presentations on a number of topics relevant to geology and modern industry.
During the meetings, discussions focused on critical raw materials, ore processing technologies, the nature of fossil organic substances and their role in the formation of metallic deposits. Environmental impacts of geological processes, including issues related to water, energy, and waste, as well as scientific approaches to the study of germanium in coal, were also considered.
