On 8 May 2026, First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology F. Hamidova, together with officials of the ministry, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the European Union to the Republic of Uzbekistan, Mr Toivo Klaar.
During the meeting, the parties exchanged views on projects being implemented between the European Union and Uzbekistan in the field of mining industry and geology, as well as on the ongoing efforts to introduce EITI (Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative) standards at enterprises operating in the sector.
The meeting also focused on further strengthening the existing partnership ties and jointly implementing the objectives set out in the Roadmap for the Strategic Partnership on Sustainable Raw Materials Value Chains.
