On 18 March 2026, the First Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology, F. Khamidova, together with officials of the Ministry, held a meeting with Mr Sarushen Pillay, Executive Vice President of Sasol responsible for Business Building, Strategy and Technology.
During the meeting, the guests were presented with information on the reforms carried out in Uzbekistan in recent years in the field of mining industry and geology, as well as on the current state of the coal sector, the activities of enterprises and future plans.
In turn, the Sasol representative noted that the company implements projects in countries such as South Africa, Mozambique, the United States, Germany, Italy and Slovakia. He also emphasised that since 2009 the company has been participating in the Uzbekistan GTL project as a technology partner, licensor and provider of technical support.
The parties discussed prospects for cooperation on a number of issues.
