Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan

The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services, the National Committee of Uzbekistan on Ecology and Climate Change, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Tax Committee, as well as international financial institutions, donor organisations and foreign expert companies in the field of water resources.

The first part of the meeting was devoted to the topic “Groundwater Management”. A representative of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology delivered a presentation entitled “Groundwater in the Water Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan”, providing information on the outcomes of international grant projects and research being implemented in the country.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants exchanged views on the prospects for implementing new initiatives and international projects aimed at the rational use and protection of water resources with the support of the United Nations.
