On the Meeting of the Coordination Council of the Project “Climate-Resilient Integrated Water Resources Management in the Zarafshan River Basin”

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Embassy of Switzerland in Uzbekistan, the National Committee on Ecology and Climate Change, the Ministry of Water Resources, the Ministry of Agriculture, the Ministry of Preschool and School Education, as well as the project implementers — Caritas Switzerland and CAREC.
During the meeting, participants discussed the results achieved under the project in 2025 and the plans for 2026–2027. A representative of the Ministry expressed gratitude to the Government of Switzerland and the project partners, noting that within the framework of the initiative, 25 divers had been installed for the automatic measurement of groundwater levels, work had begun on modelling and assessing groundwater resources, and around ten specialists from the State Institution “Uzbekhydrogeology” and the State Institution “Institute GIDROINGEO” had enhanced their qualifications in line with international standards.
