English-language training sessions for mining specialists held at UGS and NSMTU in cooperation with World Learning

Information sessions on an English-language course for mining-sector specialists were organised at the University of Geological Sciences (UGS) and the Navoi State Mining and Technology University (NSMTU) in cooperation with the US-based organisation World Learning.
The events were attended by a representative of World Learning, Dr Kara McBride, as well as a representative of the US Embassy in Tashkent, F. Akobirov.
During the meetings, participants discussed the content of the online English-language course (MOOC) for specialists in mining, metallurgy and geology, the training format, and prospects for further cooperation. The course is scheduled to run from 15 February to 2 May.
The main objective of the programme is to provide high-quality English-language training to up to 500 mining-sector specialists, researchers and students in mining disciplines across Uzbekistan.
