As part of the project “Climate-Resilient Integrated Water Resources Management in the Zarafshan River Basin,” a debriefing was organised to examine Switzerland’s experience in managing water resources in the context of climate change.

The event, initiated by the Embassy of Switzerland, brought together representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the State Institution “Uzbekhydrogeology,” the State Institution “Institute of HYDROINGEO,” as well as specialists from relevant ministries and agencies.
During the meeting, participants considered the possibilities for introducing Swiss methodologies in Uzbekistan, particularly in the Zarafshan River basin. Special attention was given to issues of water-resources assessment and mathematical modelling, technologies for artificial recharge of groundwater reserves, and the organisation of systematic monitoring of water bodies.
