Switzerland’s experience in integrated water resources management has been studied

Within the framework of the project “Climate-resilient integrated water resources management in the Zarafshan River basin in Uzbekistan”, financed by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC), Uzbek specialists studied international experience in the field of integrated water resources management.
Representatives of the Ministry of Mining Industry and Geology, the State Institution “Uzbekhydrogeology”, and the State Institution “GIDROINGEO Institute”, as part of the Uzbekistan delegation, became acquainted with the activities of leading Swiss companies and research centres in the areas of hydropower plant construction with the preservation of existing ecosystems in river and canal beds, improvement of drinking water supply, assessment and modelling of water resources, use of meteorological data, artificial recharge of groundwater aquifers, and monitoring practices.
