A briefing on "Work Being Carried Out in Uzbekistan to Reduce Poverty, Ensure Employment, and Increase Family Incomes" was held on Renaissance TV channel.

In the first 8 months of 2026, significant results were achieved in this area:

Individual plans were developed for 515,000 families, 161,000 citizens were employed, and 304,000 were engaged in entrepreneurship. Nearly 55,000 micro-projects were launched in mahallas, increasing the incomes of 164,000 residents.

As a result of this work, the poverty rate fell from 5.8% to 3.9%. 49 districts and 3,429 mahallas became "poverty-free" areas.

A new diagnostic system based on the principle of "diagnosis first, then solution" will be introduced for ensuring employment and increasing incomes.

Under this system, citizens will be surveyed door-to-door and entered into the "Online Mahalla" system; individual plans and a "Registry Book" will be developed based on the causes of unemployment and poverty.

Citizens categorized using artificial intelligence will be assigned to the "mahalla seven"; plans will be approved and updated quarterly.

At present, "emergency headquarters" led by khokims have begun their work.

By the end of the year, the goal has been set to lift a further 230,000 families out of poverty and increase the incomes of 1 million residents.
