Scientific and geological exploration works at Angren coal mine are underway

Employees of the laboratory “Lithology and Sedimentary Oreogenesis” of the Institute of Geology and Geophysics of the University of Geological Sciences are conducting scientific and geological exploration works in the territory of Angren coal mine.
The research is aimed at determining the lithologic composition and lithofacial arrangement of rocks covering coal seams.
In the course of field work the composition, structure and forms of sedimentary rocks of different horizons are studied. Based on these data, the scientific basis for the paleogeographic development of the basin and the processes of sedimentary oreogenesis are determined.
These developments are important for evaluating prospective reservoirs and creating a new geological model.
