A trilateral agreement was signed in Paris (France) between the French company Orano Mining, the Japanese corporation ITOCHU and the state enterprise Navoiuran. The agreement provides for the start of uranium production by the end of 2025 at the Jongeldi deposit, located in the Tomdi district of Navoi region, as well as the intensification of geological exploration works within the framework of other joint projects.

According to the agreement, at the first stage of development of Jongeldi deposit, according to preliminary calculations, the total volume of capital investments will amount to USD 214 million over three years, and the average annual uranium production is expected to be 500 tonnes.
Under the terms of the agreement, foreign companies will be the main investors in the Jongeldi project. In order to reduce the cost of uranium mining and integrate the project's production process into the existing industrial capacities, Navoiuran State Enterprise has been appointed as the project's managing operator.
