The gallery-type water-intake facility constructed along the bank of the Karadarya River has a design cost of 240 billion soums. The site covers an area of 35 hectares, while the gallery is laid horizontally at a depth of 10–12 metres and consists of pipes with a diameter of 1,220 mm and a total length of 3 km. River water collected through small perforations in the pipes is conveyed to treatment facilities via a water-transmission network extending 15.6 km. This process does not require the use of electrical energy.
Following the assessment, the project authors were provided with recommendations on addressing certain issues related to geological conditions, as well as on ensuring the facility’s efficient and safe operation in the future.
