During the visit, presentations were organised for the delegation on production technologies, raw-material bases, and management practices at the enterprises.
The programme commenced in the city of Kunming, where meetings and practical familiarisation sessions were held at a number of organisations operating in the fields of copper production, metallurgy, and geology. Information was presented on the structure of China Copper Co., Ltd, as well as on its main production areas.
Representatives of the Institute of Mineral Resources held meetings with Yunnan Copper and the China Geological Service (Xi’an Centre), during which issues of technical cooperation and potential areas for future practical collaboration were discussed.
The delegation examined the production processes of the modern copper-smelting plant and electrolytic facility of Southwest Copper, including technological and processing stages.
In addition, the delegation thoroughly familiarised itself with the production processes of Pulang, one of China’s largest underground copper deposits, as well as with the operations of its ore-processing plant.
