The event was attended by heads of ministries and agencies, specialists from international organisations, and representatives of leading enterprises. In his address, the Deputy Minister of Mining Industry and Geology of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rustam Yusupov, noted that Uzbekistan occupies leading positions in the region in terms of mineral-resource potential and is among the world’s largest countries in terms of gold and uranium reserves and production. He also highlighted the importance of the new edition of the Law “On Subsoil”, developed in cooperation with the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, which is of strategic significance for improving the investment climate and aligning sectoral procedures with international standards. The expansion of projects on critical minerals and the growing involvement of the private sector were also emphasised.
Rustam Yusupov paid particular attention to the objectives defined by the “Uzbekistan – 2030” Strategy, including a substantial increase in the production of gold, copper, silver, and uranium, the full digitalisation of production processes, and the implementation of major investment projects aimed at establishing modern processing capacities. He underlined that enterprises of the industry are consistently advancing international-level initiatives focused on enhancing efficiency, environmental sustainability, and technological development.
The Congress programme included plenary sessions, thematic panels, expert discussions, and presentations of major investment projects. For participants, the event served as an important platform for sharing new ideas, expanding cooperation, and strengthening the position of Uzbekistan’s mining industry at both regional and global levels.
