The First Deputy Minister of Culture of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, B. Allakov, introduced the participants to the agenda and provided information on the measures taken to combat corruption within the ministry's system organizations.
Following this, K. Rahimov, an employee of the Anti-Corruption Service of the Ministry of Culture of Uzbekistan, spoke about the dangers and consequences of corruption. He emphasized that corruption is a major obstacle to the ongoing reforms and national development and that it is essential to fight it collectively.
"Today, we must increase our awareness of corruption, which significantly hinders the sustainable development of our society. Corruption is not just about economic losses; it also leads to the erosion of trust, the loss of justice, and the destruction of human values," said Komiljon Rahimov.
During the meeting, participants were informed about how to act and where to report if they encounter corruption-related situations.
Additionally, information was provided on corruption-related crimes committed in the cultural sector throughout 2024. It was reiterated that leaders of system organizations must adhere to principles of transparency and integrity, ensure financial documents are properly maintained, and prevent favoritism and nepotism in public procurement processes.
Moreover, guidance was given on key aspects that every employee should pay attention to in order to prevent corruption. It was also emphasized that anti-corruption officers within system organizations should enhance their effectiveness by conducting seminars, training sessions, and awareness campaigns to strengthen the fight against corruption.
