In 2024, artists from the "O‘zbeksirk" State Institution, Darina Matveyeva and Sanjar Xasanov, set a world record by performing a hanging-by-the-teeth stunt at the 46th International Circus Festival in Monte Carlo. The performance received a standing ovation from the entire audience, including the King and Queen of Monaco.
The festival featured over 100 participants from 16 countries, showcasing their best performances.
Following her participation in the festival, on January 14, 2025, Darina Matveyeva was officially recognized by the Guinness World Records in Milan, Italy, for the category of “The Woman with the Strongest Jaw”, in recognition of her record-breaking feat.
During the 2024 festival, Matveyeva, who weighs 54.1 kg, performed the stunt by hanging from her teeth while supporting a 74.9 kg male artist by his waist. In total, she lifted 129 kg using only her teeth and jaw, earning a place in the Guinness Book of Records.
For reference, Darina Matveyeva is an Uzbek State Circus artist, a winner of multiple international circus festivals, a recipient of the "Silver Clown" award in Monte Carlo and the "Golden Elephant" award in Spain, and an honoree of Uzbekistan’s "For Devotion to Culture and Arts" badge.
The Ministry of Culture congratulates Darina Matveyeva and the entire team of "O‘zbeksirk" artists on this remarkable achievement.
