On January 5, in celebration of the 128th anniversary of the birth of the prominent representative of Uzbek national music art, academician, and People's Artist of Uzbekistan Yunus Rajabiy, a group of masters of maqom art, representatives of the Rajabiy family, scholars, and many cultural and artistic figures gathered at the Yunus Rajabiy House Museum in our capital. They reminisced about Yunus Rajabiy's legacy, his creative journey, and the significance of his works.
During this visit, there was a heartfelt conversation with the members of the Rajabiy family. The memory event brought back vivid recollections of Yunus Rajabiy’s legacy, his creative journey, and the importance of his works.
As acknowledged, composer, singer, and instrumentalist, academician Yunus Rajabiy made a significant contribution to the Uzbek musical drama genre, creating numerous melodies, songs, dance tunes, and choral works.
During the roundtable discussion, scholars, folk singers, and people’s artists particularly acknowledged the unparalleled contribution of the great musicologist Yunus Rajabiy to the development of Uzbek music. His monumental efforts in collecting and preserving folk songs and musical heritage, his creative journey, the invaluable works he left behind, and his indelible mark on the development of our national art were warmly remembered.

For reference, the 100th anniversary of the great musicologist Yunus Rajabiy was widely celebrated in 1997, and in 2000, he was awarded the "For Great Services" order for his significant contribution to the development of Uzbek national culture.
