"On May 16 of this year, our President personally visited the ‘Uzbekistan National Cinema Arts Palace,’ where he got acquainted with the conditions and opportunities here. He engaged in a friendly dialogue with industry representatives and proposed numerous initiatives. This was truly a historic and unforgettable event. Today, this is further evidence that the development of cinema in our country is being prioritized at the state level. The decrees and resolutions adopted by our President and the Government lay a solid foundation for raising the prestige of national cinema. For example, following the presidential decision on June 5, 2023, a program was adopted to create a series of films titled ‘Living History’ dedicated to the millennia-long history of our nation. According to the program, 54 historical films will be produced. This is of great importance as it reflects our ancient history and rich culture while presenting an honest and unbiased portrayal of the struggles of great leaders and statesmen in the fight for independence," said Avazkhon Tadjikhanov.
The Director General of the Uzbek Film Agency, literature scholar Shuhrat Rizayev, recognized that the development of national cinema in Uzbekistan remains a priority for President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noting that this attention plays a crucial role in the successful implementation of various creative projects.
