From November 18-20, the "Days of Uzbek Culture" were held in the Russian Federation.
It is worth noting that in recent years, Uzbekistan-Russia relations have achieved positive results in many areas of cooperation.
In particular, strengthening cultural and humanitarian cooperation between the two countries deserves special attention. The Agreement on Cooperation in the Fields of Culture, Science and Technology, Education, Healthcare, Information, Sports, and Tourism, signed between the Government of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Government of the Russian Federation on March 19, 1993, continues to serve as the legal foundation of cultural collaboration between Uzbekistan and Russia. Over the years, bilateral relations have been developing at various levels.
To further strengthen cultural cooperation between the two countries, the "Days of Uzbek Culture" were held in the Russian Federation.
Various cultural events were organized, including the IV meeting of the Subcommittee on Culture of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia. The meeting was chaired by the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, Olga Lyubimova, and the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Ozodbek Nazarbekov, at the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation on November 18.
During the meeting, the parties discussed the current state and prospects of cultural cooperation, focusing on issues related to cinematography. They reviewed opportunities for implementing joint projects, exchanging experiences, and organizing cultural events. Additionally, the importance of supporting young talents in cinema and the arts, as well as expanding the horizons of cooperation, was emphasized.

"The third meeting was held in Tashkent in May 2023. During this time, several significant projects have been implemented. One of the main events was the signing of cooperation agreements in the field of film production. This is important for our filmmakers, as they now have the opportunity to present national films on international platforms. Furthermore, we are exploring new formats of cooperation, such as international festivals and exchanges in film education. I am confident that such initiatives will not only strengthen relations between our countries but also contribute to improving the quality of film production. Additionally, they will create new opportunities for young talents who wish to work on international projects and exchange experiences with colleagues from other countries," said Olga Lyubimova.

"Bilateral relations between our countries are actively developing. I have a positive view of the projects implemented, which have yielded significant results, and I would like to express my deep gratitude to the Russian side for its support. Additionally, I propose to further expand our cooperation in the field of arts, as this will strengthen cultural ties between our peoples. Establishing educational programs for students to exchange experiences and knowledge will not only develop cinematography but also help better understand and showcase each country's culture and traditions through the joint production of documentary films. I believe these efforts will further strengthen our cooperation and create new opportunities for joint work," said Ozodbek Nazarbekov.
At the end of the event, the protocol of the IV meeting of the Subcommittee on Culture of the Intergovernmental Commission on Economic Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Russia was signed.
Additionally, on November 18, ahead of the "Days of Uzbek Culture" in the Russian Federation, Russian artists Sergey Bezrukov and Andris Liepa, as well as Uzbek artists Farrukh Zokirov and Sevara Nazarkhan, were awarded the "Friendship" Order of both states. This recognition was granted by the Presidents of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Russia, Vladimir Putin, for their significant contributions to strengthening the strategic partnership and allied relations between the two countries, preserving and enriching cultural values, and expanding cooperation in cinema and theater.
On November 19, a concert program and photo exhibition titled "Evening of Uzbek Stars" were held at the Kremlin State Palace in Moscow, featuring renowned Uzbek artists.
The event was attended by high-ranking officials, representatives of the cultural and business circles of Russia and Uzbekistan, diplomats, and prominent figures of the arts.
The concert program included performances by:
- The Uzbek State Symphony Orchestra conducted by Kamoliddin Orinboev
- Winners of the "Artist" musical TV project
- International competition laureates Sabina Khamdamova and Akkol Meldebekov
- People’s Artists of Uzbekistan, including Zulaykho Boykhonova, Ramiz Usmonov, and Farrukh Zokirov
- Honored artists of Uzbekistan Ozoda Nursaidova and Ilyos Arabov

The cultural program allowed Russian audiences to experience the unique charm of Uzbek art and recognize its significance in global culture.
As part of the event, a photo exhibition showcasing over 80 rare photographs dedicated to significant events, architectural landmarks, and modern transformations in Uzbekistan was organized.
The "Days of Uzbek Culture" in Russia have become a symbol of friendship, mutual understanding, and cultural cooperation between the peoples of both countries.
