In recent years, cooperation between Uzbekistan and Georgia has been steadily developing in various fields, including culture and the arts.
In particular, representatives from Georgia regularly participate in festivals held in Uzbekistan, such as the "Lazgi," "Bakhshi Art," "Handicrafts," and "Maqom" festivals.
As a result of agreements reached during the visits of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan to Georgia and the Prime Minister of Georgia to Uzbekistan, cultural and humanitarian cooperation has entered a new phase of development.
The main goal of the "Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days" events is to showcase the rich history, cultural heritage passed down from generation to generation, and the unique art of the Uzbek people, as well as to present modern Uzbek music, craftsmen's practical art exhibitions, and skilled chefs’ presentations of "Uzbek Cuisine."
As a result of this productive cooperation and to further strengthen cultural and artistic ties, from July 9-12, 2024, in Tbilisi, within the framework of the "Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days," a festive concert program of cultural and artistic masters, film screenings, and a handicrafts exhibition were organized.
On July 10, the grand opening ceremony of "Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days" took place at the magnificent Jansug Kakhidze Cultural Palace in Tbilisi. The Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, Bahodir Ahmedov, delivered a speech at the event.
"Today, as a result of this fruitful cooperation, we gather here at this magnificent cultural palace for the opening ceremony of the 'Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days.' We believe that this year will be one of the most important and eventful years in the history of our bilateral cooperation," said Bahodir Ahmedov.
On July 11, the official opening ceremony of the Uzbek Film Days within the framework of "Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days" took place. Representatives from the film industry, including Matyoqub Matchonov, Tohir Saidov, Husan Rashidov, Zafar Yuldashev, Lola Eltoeva, Umid Iskandarov, Samiddin Lutfullayev, and Farhod Sarvarov, participated in the event.
Within the framework of "Uzbek Culture and Cinema Days," films such as "Ilhaq," "Flight 101," and "Evolution" were screened.
Additionally, on behalf of the Minister of Culture, Sports, and Youth Affairs of Georgia, an official reception was held for the representatives of the Uzbekistan delegation.
