The “Boysun Spring” International Folklore Festival will be held in the tourism complex located in the Bibishirin neighborhood of the Boysun district in cooperation with the Surkhandarya regional government, the Ministry of Culture and the Tourism Committee on May 1-7, 2024.
The Boysun Spring Festival, which was established in 2002, was held again a year later and was not held for unknown reasons for 13 years between 2004 and 2016.
The festival, which was revived in 2017 and held three times at the initiative of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, was not held again in 2020-2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. And finally, in accordance with the decision of the Cabinet of Ministers dated February 7, 2022, “On measures to hold the international folklore festival “Boysun Spring”, the festival was organized for the sixth time on May 7-8, 2022. It was decided to hold the international festival under the auspices of UNESCO every 2 years.
“Boysun Bahori” International Folklore Festival, which is organized for the seventh time this year, will be held in a completely new style and at a high artistic level. For this purpose, a modern tourist center was built in Bibishirin neighborhood near lush mountains. A magnificent five-story four-star hotel, a large stage, an amphitheater, a place of territorial fortifications, ethno-sports fields and other infrastructure facilities were built here. Fences and fortifications of organizations and institutions in Termiz city, districts and regions were installed.
So far, more than 20 countries have received invitations to participate in the festival. More than 100 masters of folklore art, folklorists, representatives of intangible cultural heritage and tourists from more than 40 countries of the world are expected to come to it.
Within the framework of the festival, there will be an international scientific-practical conference, the opening ceremony of the festival with the participation of famous artists and folk groups, national songs and costumes, food, handicrafts, exhibitions of visual and practical art works, drone shows, ethno-sports competitions, as well as ukulele, wrestling, stone lifting. , various folk games such as tug-of-war, cock-fighting, varrak saili are also organized.
Visitors can directly enjoy the folk arts of Boysun, such as cloth, carpet weaving, embroidery, hat making, chanqovuz, dombra, sibizga, gajirnai making. On the green hill, where the international festival will be held, more than a hundred plants will be installed, and national traditions and values will be demonstrated.
The international competition of the festival is organized in the fields of folklore and national folk games and performing arts. In the prestigious competition, the proud first-place team will be awarded 3,500 dollars, the second-place winners 2,500 dollars, and the third-place masters of folklore and national folk games and performing arts will be awarded 1,500 dollars and souvenirs. Prize winners will also be awarded a special diploma, certificate and statuette of the international festival.
The participants and guests of the festival will breathe in the clean, clear air of lush Boysun, located in the heart of the mountains, and enjoy the rich natural scenery, healing herbs, and the refreshing waters of crystal clear.
The participants and guests of this unique and elegant art festival will visit the archaeological monuments that speak of the distant past – Teshiktash, the cradle of mankind from the Paleolithic era, Amir Temur caves, 65 million-year-old dinosaur tracks, Uzundara, Kurgonzal, Tumanqorgan, which served as important fortifications and strategic structures in their time. it is possible to enrich knowledge about world civilization by organizing trips.
Also, visitors can visit Syrob maples with a century-old history, “Amonkhona”, “Khojamaykhona” healing waters, mysterious fish, Tangisar red canons,will have the opportunity to directly see one of the deepest caves on the planet – the 2,651-meter-long “Black Star” cave located in the Boysuntog mountain range.
In 1999, the ancient and ever-famous Surkhan oasis, located in the high mountains of Boisun district, was declared a “Masterpiece of World Folk Art” by UNESCO. In 2001, it was included in the “Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity” list of UNESCO, and in 2008, it was included in the “World Heritage” list.
