Today, on November 27, the event "Meeting of the Leader and Youth" was held at the Yunus Rajabi Uzbek National Institute of Musical Art with the participation of the First Deputy Minister of Culture, Bahodir Ahmedov.
This meeting was organized with the aim of creating new opportunities for talented youth directly related to the activities of departments responsible for directions within the ministry system—developing concert and performance activities, organizing cultural-public events and festivals, ensuring participation in state events, and working with creative youth.
The meeting was attended by heads of relevant departments of the Ministry of Culture, the institute's rector Eldor Shermanov, the head of the Tashkent City Culture Department Davron Sheraliyev, as well as institute students.
During the event, talented youth—students studying in the fields of maqom, bakhshichilik (traditional storytelling), and traditional performance—addressed the audience with their creative ideas, suggestions, and questions.
Bahodir Ahmedov listened to each appeal from the youth, emphasizing the need to support them, realize their creative initiatives, and create the necessary opportunities for their broad participation in state events.
"People do not come to art saying, 'I will build a house, buy a car, or accumulate wealth.' One enters art with love. An artist who comes seeking income loses their way. If one enters these lessons, this sanctuary of our national art, with courage and love, only then will the artist's name remain eternal in history. Because every act done with courage and love lives forever," said Bahodir Ahmedov.
During the meeting, institute rector Eldor Shermanov presented a new initiative being implemented by the UzNIMI—the "Maqom Caravan" project—alongside talented students. This project is significant as it aims to support young creators, widely promote maqom art, and implement skill-building lessons across regions.
At the end of the event, a group of young people who have distinguished themselves in recent years through their creative work, initiative, and activity were awarded valuable gifts.
