A festive ceremony dedicated to World Tourism Day, celebrated on September 27, took place in Tashkent. Opening the event, the Minister of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Aziz Abdukhakimov, emphasized that the role of the tourism industry in strengthening the national economy and enhancing the country’s international standing continues to grow steadily.
In his address, the Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Umid Shadiev, highlighted the industry’s achievements, ongoing projects, and underscored that the establishment of the “Turizm fidoyisi” badge serves as a symbol of high recognition for professionals who have made a significant contribution to the sector’s development.
In recent years, the progress achieved in Uzbekistan’s tourism industry has been the result of the particular attention and support provided by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan in this area. In this regard, the establishment of the “Turizm fidoyisi” badge represents an important element of the large-scale reforms being implemented in the sector.
Today, a number of projects are being carried out across Uzbekistan aimed at further expanding the country’s tourism potential, increasing the inflow of international visitors, and improving the quality of tourism services. The active participation of dedicated professionals and passionate individuals in these processes makes an invaluable contribution to the industry’s growth. Alongside this, extensive work is underway throughout the country to preserve historical heritage, protect the environment, and modernize tourism infrastructure.
